Trip Description
Gonio & Mountainous Adjara Tour: The tour starts in Gonio, 15 km from Batumi, with a visit to the ancient Gonio–Apsaros Fortress, rich in myths and legends linked to the Argonauts. Continue to the scenic mountains of Adjara, crossing the medieval Queen Tamar Arch Bridge and stopping at the Makhuntseti Waterfall (48 m). Lunch at a local Adjarian Wine House (paid by tourists). On the way back to Batumi, drive through the Kakhaber Lowland, stop at the confluence of the Chorokhi and Adjaristskali Rivers, and visit the ancient Gvara Fortress (5th–6th century AD).
For your comfort on the excursion, wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses and a hat. The excursion program can be changed in case of weather conditions or at the discretion of the guide.
